Thank you for everything
As the current year is about to end, the current soon-to-be-replaced Board would like to extend a warm thank you to all members, firms and KTH organisations that together have made 2011 a truly memorable year.
For many reasons, 2011 will be a landmark in the history of KTHFS. Annual events such as the Finance Day and London Banking Week have finally been firmly established events with the finest banks attending each event. Moreover, we have never been hosting so many exciting events, be it social happenings, lectures, company presentations etc. Third, we have witnessed our career website, finansjobben.se, virtually exploding with a steady stream of firms contacting us in regards to this.
That said, as always, we need to recognise the fact that much remains to be done. Perhaps most importantly, KTHFS is aware of the fact that we need to much more visible on campus. Having inserted the Board Position “Medlemsansvarig” – “Member Responsible” – as of this year, we want to make sure that you feel we do all the work for one particular person: you. Moreover, we have also established relationship with many exciting organisations on campus which, among other things, led us to be a part of ARMADA this year and, in co-operation with “I-nämnden”, co-hosted “Applications Night”. This is a process which will be significantly reinforced next year. Even if you harbour no interest in finance or banking whatsoever, our goal is to make sure all students of KTH know what KTHFS is and what KTHFS does.
Apart from this, it is vital that the new Board get up to speed as fast as possible. We are positive that new, refreshing voices will be able to further develop KTHFS. New minds bring new ideas. As we enter the New Year, next year’s Board will present themselves in full on this blog. Stay tuned.
On a final note, KTHFS will not lose track on its core mission: to narrow the gap between students and the financial industry and, secondly, enhance the knowledge how the economy and the financial world work like. In practical terms, this means that we will continuously work towards a Finance Day that exceed this year’s; a London Banking Trip that involves even better and more attractive firms; and, in the end perhaps most important, a steady stream of exciting and interesting events that make you as a KTH student more well-positioned to enter the financial industry upon graduation. Being a KTH student is an enviable position. We who now resign from the Board and look forward to launching our careers in London and New York are a testimony to that.
Thank you for your interest and see you on the other side of the New Year!
